BDP receives RIBA-CABE Public Space Award nomination for Liverpool One
17th October 2009
Liverpool One is a 42 acre mixed use development incorporating retail, leisure and mixed use areas. The project was initially known as PSDA, the Paradise Street Development Area and involved the regeneration of a large swathe of Liverpool City Centre. The main retail anchor stores are John Lewis and Debenhams and a 14-screen Odeon Cinema for the leisure and entertainment anchor. The scheme also features a beautiful public open space, Chavasse Park which has views of the Albert Dock and it provides a gateway to the River Mersey.
Architectural photographer David Millington photographed the Liverpool ONE retail development for The Commission for Architecture in the Built Environment, CABE and has photographed Chavasse Park for both BDP and CABE. His photography was used on the front cover of a Government Document entitled "World Class Places."
