25th September 2008
David was commissioned by Building Design Partnership to photograph Chavasse Park, prior to The Princess Royal officially opening the second phase of Liverpool ONE on the 1st October completing the 42 acre £1bn mixed-use development.

Chavasse Park, has won the BALI Grand Award beating 30 other category winners to take the top prize at the National Landscape Awards on 5 December.

BDP’s landscape architects carried out the design work on the project led by developer Grosvenor Estates, which also includes retail, housing and leisure. Willerby Landscapes was contractor for the project.

Chavasse Park lies at the heart of the scheme connecting the retail area to the city’s historic docklands. It comprises in excess of 20,000 sq m of soft and hard landscaping, and lies over three storeys of car parking, retail and internal public space. It is bordered by a new hotel and 600 apartments.

The judges called the scheme "outstanding" and a "fine example of urban renewal".

David's photography played a key role in the competition submission which demonstrates the importance of professional commercial photography. His images of the scheme can be viewed here http://www.davidmillington.com/park
